Split Payment - Installment Plans

The Split Payment feature allows you to sell WooCommerce products by collecting payments over time in scheduled installments, instead of charging the full amount upfront. Ideal for digital products, services, retainers, or high-value items.

What Can You Do With Split Payment?

• Offer 2 to unlimited installment plans per product.

• Set billing frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.).

• Choose when access ends after payment is complete.

• Show progress tracking for both store managers and customers.

• Automatically stops billing after the last payment.

Setting Up

For demonstration, we will show for the Simple product type here. You can do the same for the Variable product type in the same way.

1. Go to WooCommerce > Products and Create or Edit an existing product.

2. Fill in the necessary product information (product type, name, description, price, etc).

3. Check the Subscription checkbox to make the product a subscription product.

4. Go to the Subscription sub menu and select the Payment Type to Split Payment.

5. Provide the payment interval in the "Repeat payment every" option.

6. You can fill in "Free Trial Duration" for free trials and "Sign-Up Fee" option for adding a sign-up fee to the subscription. Leave empty to skip them.

7. On the Split Payment section, provide the number of times the payment will be taken in the "Number of Payments" option.

8. On the "Access Ends Timing" select one of the following.

   • After full access duration: The subscription will be cancelled after the last recurring period.

   • Lifetime access duration: The subscription will stay active even after the last recurring period. But no payments will be taken after the last payment.

   • Custom access duration: You can set the duration the subscription will stay active after the last payment. No payment will be taken after the last payment.

9. Save the product.

Example Use Cases
